Fan Film Friday: Kamala (A Ms. Marvel Fan Film)

It was just a matter of time that Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, would land a film.  However, the world of fan films has beat Marvel to the punch.  Kamala Khan is a superheroine from Marvel Comics who made her first appearance in Captain Marvel #14 (August 2013) before eventually landing her own series as Ms. Marvel in 2014.

Kamala is a Pakistani-American teenager from Jersey with shapeshifting abilities and is also Marvel’s first Muslim superhero to headline her own book.  Ms. Marvel has gained quite a fan base, even before her series launched, and there is already talk of her appearing in other media for Marvel.  So don’t be surprised if she happens to pop up in Phase 4 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.

As noted in AnitaBeMe’s description of the fan film, Kamala is a no budget fan film produced by Anita Kalathara & Landis Aponte about Kamala Khan, a relatable Pakistani-American teenager who also happens to be Marvel Comics’ first Muslim Superhero!

Anita Kalathara and Landis Aponte do a great job capturing the spirit of the comic and there are some nice special effects to showcase some of Kamala’s powers.  The 5 minute fan film is an enjoyable watch so be sure to check it out below.
