The fight of the century is not in your local movie theater, but instead, on the CW. Supergirl is set to go head to head against her Kryptonian cousin, Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), in the season finale episode, “Nevertheless, She Persisted“. Executive Producer, Andrew Kreisberg, has called the episode, their “biggest ever” and hopefully they deliver, as I am certain more viewers will be tuning in for this ultimate showdown.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Benoist has stated, “I think it’s a huge finale, and there’s a lot going on, and I think people will go on an emotional roller coaster with Kara, so I’m sorry to all the fans in advance. … Every time I get a script, I’m like, ‘There’s no way we’re going to top what we just did.’ And then I read the new script and I’m like, ‘how are we going to do this?’ And somehow we do. So I think we’ll only just keep getting bigger and bigger. The scope of this world is so massive that we can’t go back.”
A big battle, an emotional rollercoaster for our heroine, and let’s not forget Calista Flockhart is back as Cat Grant. Seems like all the pieces are in place for this to be a great episode.
Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) challenges Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) to battle to save National City. Meanwhile, Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) returns and Cat Grant (guest star Calista Flockhart) offers Supergirl some sage advice.
The episode was directed by Glen Winter from a story by Andrew Kreisberg & Jessica Queller and teleplay by Robert Rovner & Caitlin Parrish.
Supergirl is new Mondays at 8/7c on The CW, and available next day on The CW App:http://on.cwtv.com/SPGyt
