Captain Marvel Trailer: Higher, Further, Faster!

Marvel has unleashed the first trailer for their 21st film in the MCU, Captain Marvel and it looks stunning.  When pictures of Brie Larson first appeared in a green and white costume lots of people were in an uproar over the costume as it wasn’t the official colors, didn’t look good, etc.  However, it was too early to say how the suit would look on film and I am happy to say the green and white looks much better in the trailer and when Captain Marvel’s official costume is revealed late in the trailer, it is amazing.

The film is set in 1990 with a much younger Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) and a most welcome return for Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg).  The two will surely become allies with Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who left earth at one point, already with powers, and returns but with some memory loss.  There are flashes of her childhood and training which will fill in some backstory and we can expect Captain Marvel to be the hero to face off against the Skrulls, an alien race with the ability to shapeshift.

This is Marvel’s first female-led superhero film and there is a lot of anticipation for it.  Whether or not it will have the same success that Patti Jenkins’ Wonder Woman had remains to be seen, but I firmly believe that this will be another big hit for Marvel and look forward to seeing Brie Larson appear in further adventures as Captain Marvel in the MCU.

Captain Marvel, which is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and also stars, Gemma Chan, Lashana Lynch, Lee Pace, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Ben Mendelsohn, and Annette Bening, hits theaters March 8, 2019.

Below is a new poster that was released as well.
